I flew a kite I held on tight to its string

Each time I go anywhere I held on tight

In the middle of the night I woke up in fright

Thinking maybe in my dream I let go of my kite
害怕在梦境里 松开了风筝的线
When I was in a restaurant talking to my friends
当我在餐厅 与友人谈笑风生
Watching their mouths move faster and faster
看他们唇齿翻飞 语速越来越快
I thought of the kite that was flying in the sky
思绪却飘向 天际翱翔的风筝
And made sure that my hand was holding the string
低头确认手心 仍紧牵着那根线
That was a long time ago
那已是久远往事
Many skies went by since then
自那以后 多少时光流逝
Now my hands stopped holding anything
如今我的双手 已不再紧握任何
And I've learnt to take a walk instead
我学会了 只是从容漫步
Then one day in the evening light
然而某日 在傍晚的余晖里
I saw something strange shining bright
我瞥见一抹异样的光亮
The sky was dark with swarms of larks
暮色天空布满云雀群
And in the midst of it all yes it was my kite

How did the kite get there I'll never know
风筝是如何飞到那里的，我永远不会知道
Floating away among the clouds to where nobody knows
随风飘向云端 去向无人知晓的远方
I held my gun with both my hands
我双手紧握着枪
Slowly aiming at the shining dot
缓缓瞄准那个闪耀的光点
The shot went off the dot blew off
枪声乍响 光点瞬间迸散
Since then I've never seen the kite again
从那以后，我再也未曾见过那风筝
