Now I'd like to tell a story
How things got to be the way they are
But my recollection of the events is not quite up to par
I don't know a lot but this is what I've learned so far
You know you can look both ways and still get hit by the car

It's like going to the racetrack even when you win you never win

Every story needs a villain
At least that's what they say
But I'd rather be the guy
Who's lies in to save the day
Getting pushed from the right and shoved
From the left makes it hard to stand my ground
It's like rooting for opposing teams
Surrounded by the hometown crowd
I know you said we're fine now
But your actions just spoke way too loud
Yeah I know I didn't lift you up
But I sure as hell never let you down
