My Girl and Me - Chris Norman

Chris Norman - My Girl And Me
I close my eyes and try to sleep
I count the tears I cry
Instead of counting sheep
The summer's gone and left the rain with me
And if this is love
It's not all it's cracked up to be
And I'm telling you this much for free
Things ain't what they used to be
With my girl and me
I walk alone through stormy nights
Longing for company
It don't seem right somehow
To love so much and hurt so desperately
Maybe I should leave
But it seems like we're caught between
The devil and the deep blue sea
Things ain't what they used to be
With my girl and me
Hold on how long can I wait
For these feelings to go away
Where is it now where did it go
Does she really love me I'll never know
Those words of love come tumbling down
Just like the winter's snow
And the dreams we never found
I light a fire to warm a lonely heart
Living in the past I've tried oh but honestly
I just can't shake the memory
Thinking how it used to be
With my girl and me
I've tried but honestly
I just can't shake the memory
Thinking how it used to be
With my girl and me
It's not the way it used to be
Can't forget the way it used to be
A love so high should never fall
But then it's much too late
For words to work at all
My girl
My girl
My girl
My girl
My girl
My girl
My girl
My girl
My girl
My girl
My girl
My girl
