I used to see her every day

Riding her golden pony

Only once did I hear her laugh

And it echoed far and lonely
那笑声荡气回肠 充满孤独
Once I watched the river run
有次我看到河水泛滥 翻滚不息
And I wandered too far from home

There I met the silver lady
在那 我遇见了银色女神
She was crying all alone
她独自地哭着
I said lady why are you crying
我问她为何哭泣
If I had wings like you
如果我有和你一样的翅膀
I would be flying over this river
我会飞过这条河
And singing like only birds do
像鸟儿一样歌唱
Well she threw back her head and she smiled at me
她便转过身 冲我微笑
Her tears how they shone in the sun
她的泪珠在阳光下闪闪发光
She said I have no wings to fly with
她说 我没有翅膀
If I did I would surely be gone
要是我有的话 我肯定飞过去了
My brothers have all gone far away
我的哥哥们都飞走了
To follow their hearts and be free
为的是追随他们的心和自由
But I am the youngest and my father is ageing
可我是最年幼的 我的父亲也老了
And all hes got left is me

I love my father dearly
我深爱我的父亲
Madman though he may be

It would break his heart if I should leave him

But this life is killing me

I feel the ocean pulling me

So she sadly turned away from me

So I stumbled my way back home

The next day I heard she had taken her horse

And gone off to parts unknown

Her father stayed inside his lonely house
他的父亲孤独地待在家中
And he never more came into town
再也没有到过镇上
He could be seen roaming the riverside
有人看到他在河边徘徊
And they say that he jumped in and drowned
据说他掉进了河里 淹死了
Long though I waited she never returned
我等了很久很久 她还是没有回来
But when I felt a silver breeze
可是当我感受到一阵银色的微风抚过时
I knew she had sent it from wherever she was
我知道那是她从远方带来的诉说
To tell us that now she was free
想告诉我她现在活得很自由
