The modern world is infected
With an obsession for paper produced in a factory
Before the last century it at least retained value
Notes exchanged for its weight in gold
Until the day central banks called for a gold amnesty
The greatest theft in American history
Legal tender was all they got in return
Debt manifesting with all of us burnt
Then maintaining the masses in a state of oppression
Crumbling under retail monstrosities
To cripple the small fry
Then recruiting in masses
To have us climb their ladder
Not forge our own
Out the way of the decision makers
We're modern day slaves and no one's complaining
We trudge the path
Paved in boardrooms at the top of the pyramid
With a eye on all of us
Drowning in the tide of false promises that
Broadcast as truth
Existing to give strength to a house of cards
Why does cash flow dictate our lives
We gauge success what we've gained externally
Though emotion felt before the birth of currency
Wisdom known to our predecessors
Kept out of sight through knowledge filtration
The word on the street
Is their view in your head
That we're being force fed
Through the mainstream media
The promise of security has our arms outreached
Poised for vaccines or chips that do more than confirm our identity
Documented proof that could change the way that people think
Hazardous to those in driving seats for the new world
Wondering what terror awaits us in the coming years
The last decade a showcase of what to expect
Keep an open mind as things aren't always as they're sold
