[00:20.58]Thousands of confident religions, ideologies, 
[00:22.81]and economic doctrines, 
[00:24.05]every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, 
[00:26.57]every hero and coward, 
[00:29.00]every creator and destroyer of civilization, 
[00:31.92]every saint and sinner in the history of our species, 
[00:35.30]think of the rivers of blood spilled 
[00:38.39]by all those generals and emperors so that, 
[00:41.03]in glory and triumph, they could 
[00:43.31]become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. 
[00:46.81]Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, 
[00:51.37]the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, 
[00:55.15]are challenged by this point of pale light, 
[00:58.20]and underscores our responsibility 
[01:00.65]and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot.
